Strength and Conditioning Coaching for Sport with a specialisation in Olympic Weightlifting
About Scott:
I strive to educate and empower athletes to make good decisions in remote training that help them achieve their goals.
Detail-oriented and technical in my approach, I apply a physics-based understanding of kinetics balanced against a deep understanding of the emotional side of training and competition that, together, ensure an effective outcome.
My goal is to understand the individual athlete, their preferences, their sport and how everything they are dealing with affects not only their sport-specific training but their strength work too, to make sure they can maximise their performance.
Athlete testimonials:
Lucy – S&C for Rowing
Training with Scott has massively helped my power in rowing and just all round strength. Through working on my power I’ve managed to smash my target erg times and power output in the boat. He values our opinion and feedback and tailors every session to our individual goals. He’s also helped me prepare for Army based fitness tests and charity events. Scott is more than just a coach and I’m looking forward to seeing how far I can progress with him

Working with Scott over the past 12 months has been great! He put an incredible amount of effort into creating personalised programming and providing ongoing support tailored to my needs as an athlete. Scott took the time to genuinely listen to my goals and understand what I wanted to achieve, then combined with his expertise in coaching and programming to create a plan that worked for me and my busy schedule! Scott was always available to answer my questions and clearly explain the rationale behind everything he included in my programme! We managed to qualify for English Championships twice! Highly recommend Scott for coaching!
Beth – Weightlifting
Scott was my first weightlifting coach, he took me from a crossfitter who liked lifting to a fully fledged Olympic weightlifter. From day one Scott had an athlete first approach with my programming, ensuring I had my programme multiple weeks in advance, taking the time to explain the benefit of different movement patterns and working around my sometimes hectic schedule. Scott wasn’t just a coach for me, he was a built in friend and my number one supporter on and off the platform! Guiding me through each comp Scott knew how to prepare me to peak in time but also enjoy the experience both in the backroom and on the platform, creating some incredible memories for the both of us. I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today without Scott providing such an amazing first year in my career and I will forever be grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a caring and knowledgeable coach.
Lisa – Weightlifting
I had the opportunity to work with Scott during my time at Crazy Strength. I originally started my lifting journey in strongman, but wanted to try my hand at weightlifting. From my very first session, I was fortunate enough to get some 1-to-1 time with Scott, and he immediately broke down the technique of the snatch in a way that really clicked for me.
Scott was excellent at getting into my headspace and helping me understand exactly where I was going wrong and how to improve. He had a great way of slowing movements down, explaining each phase clearly, especially when and how to generate power from the hips which made a huge difference to my technique.
He always kept a close eye on my progress in class offering guidance and adjustments, plus the occasional pep talk when I needed it most. There was no better feeling than finally getting the technique right and earning that nod of approval from him.
Dan – CrossFit
As a novice Olympic weightlifter, I was looking for a coach who could help me build solid foundations without making things feel overwhelming, and Scott has been exactly that.
From day one, he’s been incredibly supportive, approachable, and patient. What I’ve appreciated most is his ability to break down positions and movements into simple, actionable feedback that I can immediately apply. Rather than overcomplicating things or bombarding me with technical details, Scott always seems to know the one or two key points that will make the biggest difference.
His coaching style has helped me improve my technique, build confidence under the bar, and enjoy the learning process. No matter what we’re working on, Scott creates a positive environment where mistakes are treated as opportunities to learn rather than something to worry about.
I would highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to get started in Olympic weightlifting or improve their lifting technique. He’s knowledgeable, encouraging, and has a real talent for making complex movements easy to understand.
Lee – CrossFit
Was coached by Scott in a class environment for a couple of years and at one competition during that period
A calm head, and great eye for detail, Scott always gave clear, focused and individualised cues without overwhelming you with information.
I was always grateful for that.
Robin – Crossfit
I can’t recommend Scott highly enough as an Olympic weightlifting coach. His depth of knowledge is considerable, but what really sets him apart is his ability to break everything down into simple, actionable steps. Every movement, cue, and prompt he gives just makes sense, allowing you to build confidence and consistency in your lifts.
Scott genuinely takes the time to listen to your goals and then creates a clear, structured plan to help you achieve them. Every session feels purposeful, and you know exactly what you’re working towards.
If your goal is to improve your technique, move better, and get progressively stronger, then it’s honestly a no-brainer, get in contact with Scott.
Since training with him, my lifting has come on leaps and bounds, and I’ve seen real progress with every session.
Would I recommend him? Absolutely… although part of me wants to keep quiet so I can stay ahead of everyone else! 😉
Emma -Weightlifting
Scott provided a personalised coaching approach even within a group setting, offering specific feedback that greatly improved my form and technique. His guidance helped me progress safely throughout the programme without injury and gave me the confidence to compete in my first novice Olympic lifting competition. His calm, approachable manner made learning enjoyable and created a supportive environment that contributed significantly to my development as a beginner lifter.
